The OpenSecrets API is gone.
This is the replacement.
OpenSecrets discontinued its public API in April 2025. ATCSTW rebuilt the lane — campaign finance aggregates, lobbying disclosures, corporate accountability records, private-equity ownership, health and patent data, resolved into one graph and served with provenance. Free tier, no credit card.

Campaign finance & lobbying
Aggregate-only, per §30111(a)(4) — organization-level and geographic aggregates, never individual donor identities.

Health, patents, science, donors
The Health Pack serves drug pricing, provider and facility records, and enforcement. The Patent Pack serves patent records with assignees resolved to entities. The Science Pack serves research and funding datasets. The Donor Pack serves the aggregate donor views the Nonprofit Suite is built on. Each pack is $69/mo (Private Equity $99/mo); the Free tier reaches every one of them at shallow depth.
Provenance, on every response.
Every response carries a provenance stamp for the records behind it: the source agency or registry, the source endpoint or file, the period the record covers, and the date ATCSTW retrieved it. Figures marked measured come directly from source records. Figures marked modeled are computed by ATCSTW, and the method is documented on the Methodology page. The two are never blended into a single figure.
